I have a game boy advance SP and after a couple of weeks the upc/barcode wore off leaving a white band with nothing on it? Does it happen with all game boy advance SP?

Unfortunately yes. It's not by design, obviously, but it happens. This happens with the serial numbers on some laptops as well. Some people put a piece of tape over the label so that it doesn't wear out.
