Is it possible to fix a gameboy sp that has gotten wet?

My son got a Gameboy SP for Christmas and thought that immersing it in water to clean it was a good idea. The light on the screen will come on, but that is it. You can sometimes hear music from one of his games, but no picture. Is it ruined, or is there something that can be done to maybe fix it???

let it dry for a few days, all electronics will work eventually,My husband had a friend that got all his amplifiers wet, and the speakers, after a good rain. it just needs to dry out. You may also try taking out the screws and open it up.

Reply:When I was younger, I had a Pickachu electronic pet that I took with me everywhere. One day, my mom washed my jeans with it in my pocket. I took it apart and dried it with a hair dryer and made sure nothing was too fried. Try changing the batteries and drying it. The screen could be ruined if drying it doesn't work.
