Does anyone know how to set the "sp" on a Sony VCR in order to record videos longer?

I’m setting up a home surveillance system, and i was wondering how i can set the "SP" system to work on my vcr.

Does anyone know how to set the "sp" on a Sony VCR in order to record videos longer?
actually SP gets you shorter filming time, SLP gives you the most. SP is shorter, but a lot better quality. To get want you want press "speed" on the VCR remote until it reads SP or SLP on the screen, whatever you want to use.
