How do you clean pooka (sp) shell necklaces??

Got a white shell necklace from the bahamas, and it's gotten kinda grungy. was thinking soap and water, but wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas. thanks.

How do you clean pooka (sp) shell necklaces??
you can soak it in salt water and clean with a tooth brush or pipe cleaner, do not try alcohol based cleaners, stick with the area that it came from to clean it, salt water
Reply:Soak them in a bleach and water mix... they are seashells so try this website

http://www.seashells.org/cleaning/deadse... Enjoy your pearly white pooka shells! Soap will actually coat them with a film and might even "eat away" at your pooka shells...especially if it is an abrasive soap.
Reply:the jewelry guy at home recommends using a bit of Mr clean in water for jewelry cleaner. cuts thru grease and leaves a shine.

cap ful to 2-3 oz of water.

soak and brush lightly, rinse with clear water and pat dry.
Reply:might try polident tablets
Reply:with a soft clean cloth that has a bit of gentle soap on it. rinse real well with a damp clean cloth and then dry with another cloth.

oh, like I said "gentle soap and rinse well"

thank you
