Is it possible to play Nintendo DS games on a GameBoy Advance/SP?

I really want a certain Nintendo DS game, but I unfortunately don't have $160 dollars to spend right now. I do have a Gameboy SP and Advance lying around, though. I know that GameBoy advance games can be played on the DS, but can DS games be played on the GameBoys?

And should I even bother buying the DS, if there's a newer model coming out soon? I would appreciate it if tech-savvy people would help me with this.

Is it possible to play Nintendo DS games on a GameBoy Advance/SP?
Are you in the us? Because nintendo ds's cost 129.99 here, plus whatever tax. You can't play ds games on a gameboy advance unfortunately, the slot is too big. You can however play gba games on a ds, there is an extra slot provided.

I havent heard of any new ds version coming out. The ds lite came out in June of 2006. It has a brighter screen and better battery than the original ds. If you live in the US, and have a gamestop near you, try looking there to see if you can find a used ds at a reduced cost. You might even be able to find a regular ds on ebay for cheap. Good luck.
Reply:No. I bought my daughter a DS for XMAS and their cartridges are too wide to fit in any Gameboy.

The DS's have an additional smaller slot to accomodate the Gameboy cartridges.
Reply:First guy got it all mixed up. The DS cartridge is a lot smaller than the GBA cartridge.

If you can play DS games on the GBA, what's the point of making the DS in the first place? Just to get us to waste 130 bucks? Probably true, but that's besides the point. You do know that DS games uses 2 screens, right? Does the GBA have 2 screens? No. Well, then, how do you expect to play the game? Are you aware that you can use a stylus on a DS? Can you do that on the GBA? No. Well, that pretty should answer your question.
Reply:ok no you can't but did you think of selling your other gameboys so you can buy a ds becuase it can play gameboy adv. and sp games

NOTE: IT CAN'T PLAY GAME BOY COLOR GAMES!
Reply:Oh come on. Did you even think about your question before you asked? How would you use touch screen functionality on a GBA? What about the two screens? Wifi? C'mooon!! Think a little. Besides, if you could play ds games on a gba, why would ANYONE buy a ds? %26gt;.%26gt; Maybe you could think just a TINY bit next time?
Reply:No, sorry you can't. A ds game cartridge is about half the size of a gameboy advance games and it just can't fit. Plus gameboy advance's technology is old. What you said is just like saying can I play PS2 games on the PSone. When gameboy advance was released they had made the nintendo ds yet so they did not know the size of the cartridge.
