How can you get the spicyness (sp) out of a food dish after its made?

I made some taco soup and its way to hot and spicy to eat and I remember reading somewhere where you can add some ingredient to take some of the hot out of it!!! HELP!!!

How can you get the spicyness (sp) out of a food dish after its made?
Heat up the soup on the stove, then add some honey. It will neutralize the heat, making it much more mild. Just add a bit, taste, and add more as needed. It won't make it too sweet, just more edible.
Reply:Sour cream, or milk, or some dairy product, will help. Since it's taco soup, sour cream will be best. To take salt out, you add a peeled raw potato... works every time.
Reply:Sour Cream...
Reply:When I overspice my Jambalaya (which I often do), I top it with dollops of sour cream and it really takes the heat away.
